SHIATZY CHEN FALL WINTER 2016 PARIS: A BACKSTAGE STORY
The Shiatzy Chen Fall Winter 2016 collection was a mix of inspirations coming from Japanese costume and the Victorian age. The kimono classic prints and cuts were reinterpreted in various outfits of the collection: long bright yellow coats with Japanese-inspired patterns were worn on laced white dresses or as a single piece when the coat had a mink lining, while navy blue jackets with flower prints were paired with high waisted leather belts and heels. Laced details could be found a bit everywhere in the collection, either as coats or dresses embellishments, skirts volants, classic tailored jacket’s belt or dresses and tops high collars which reminded us of Victorian style. Accessories were unusual and edgy: blue sequins crossover bags were paired with laced velvet or leather boots or cuissards from pink to metallic gold. On a beauty note, the make-up was ethereal and delicate, only accentuated by thick black eyeliner covering the eyelid.
