8IGB COMMUNITY CLOTHING

By Crash redaction

8IGB community clothing is a brand founded by Ruben Bissoli, an Italian stylist/graphic designer who passed through Balenciaga’s studios, before founding his own brand in 2016.
For this new collection, ‘Corn Face,’ Ruben was inspired by childhood, and of a life of freedom and adventure in the country side, before growing up and moving to the city. With a touch of nostalgia, he references his inspirations; Tom Sawyer, the protagoniste of the Mark Twain 1876 novel about the adventures of a boy growing up alongside the Mississippi river; Hy (Henry) Hintermeister paintings, an illustrator known for his comical depictions of American life; and Pippi Longstocking, the iconic character from the eponymous Swedish children’s books.
These references present themselves as apron ruffles mixed with baseball jerseys, florals on sweatpants, and tailored suits with delicate San Gallo lace collars. Adhering to the playful, deconstructed silhouettes now synonymous with 8IGB clothing, the collection is genderless, fresh and full of modern appeal.
