JUNYA WATANABE FW25 COLLECTION

By Elise TOIDE

« I’m fascinated by creating clothing that appears to be unrealistic. This time, I created everyday clothing from a cubist perspective, » Junya Watanabe explains.

Deconstructed silhouettes and sharp geometric cuts evoke Picasso’s fragmented vision, yet remain wearable—blurring the line between art and utility. The collection pulses with an electric energy, underscored by Jimi Hendrix’s Straight Ahead, Drifter’s Escape, Astro Man and Angel, while collaborations with Dr. Martens and Levi’s ground the designs in subversive streetwear.

With Eugene Souleiman sculpting hair and Isamaya Ffrench crafting abstract makeup, Watanabe’s FW25 show is a structured rebellion.
