DAVID BOWIE IS IN PARIS WITH MAKE UP FOREVER

By Crash redaction

A beautiful, unique, avant-garde icon… This is David Bowie.

The « Lepper Messiah » came down to Earth more than forty years ago and is still worshiped by millions of fans throughout the world. It is not always easy for an artist to go through decades with the same magical aura and to always be at the top of his game, but you can trust David Bowie to remain the one true magician he always have been. Always changing, like the time itself, from the sparkling alien Ziggy Stardust to the dark and tourmented Nathan Adler, David Bowie IS.

It goes without saying that fashion has always been an integral part of all his mutations. We could mention his costume by Kansai Yamamoto during his Aladdin Sane’s era, or Alexander McQueen for the Earthling album and tour. Inspired by fashion, but mainly inspiring it, there is no season without a Bowie reference. Last example in date is the latest Dior Haute Couture show.

His incredible work inspired, changed and prefigured the years to come, always pushing boundaries with a unique grace. In 2013, The Victoria & Albert Musueum payed hommage to this accomplished artist with a retrospective called « David Bowie Is ». A perfect journey into the whimsical world and brilliant mind of the icon, showcasing his famous costumes, pictures, hand-written lyrics and personal objects. « David Bowie Is » was an evident success and travelled around the world. On March, 3rd, the exhibition finally comes to Paris at the new Philarmonie de Paris.

For this occasion, Make Up Forever decided to sponsor the exhibition. An obvious association between the king of metamorphosis, known for his infamous kabuki inspired make-up, and the world’s biggest make-up brand and school. Make Up For Ever will mobilize their students on the performance-concert of WIEBO and during make-up workshops where visitors will have the opportunity to be transformed into a « real cool cat » from the « Bowie Universe ». Make Up Forever decided to organize a contest as well. Called #DavidBowieIsMe, the purpose is to post a picture of yourself with Bowie-inspired make up on Instagram or Twitter with #DavidBowieIsMe and on the dedicated accounts. The winners will receive David Bowie CDs, Make Up For Ever sets and a camera. Let your inner-Bowie self out ! #DavidBowieIs
