MARNI FW15 CAMPAIGN
By Crash redaction
Unconventional and independent: Marni Fw15 campaign
For the Fall-Winter 2015, the Marni woman is lost in thought. Lying on the floor or leaning against an upturned table, you don’t have to see her face to understand she’s the independent kind. Shot by Anglo-American artist Jackie Nickerson, the images show an non-conventional version of a fashion campaign – an artistic vision that perfectly goes with the spirit of Marni. « What we wanted was to create beautiful yet strong images that stand alone, » declared Consuelo Castiglioni, Creative Director of Marni. « Each one having an impact of its own without the others. » True, Marni explores here how to give an artistic statement through a medium commonly used for publicity purposes. Marni intends to present an advertising campaign every season from now on, which hasn’t been the case in the past. The initiative corresponds to a global programme of product development which goes with the opening of new stores internationally. « I love the Marni sensibility and the experimental or perhaps defiant or subversive way Consuelo approaches design, » says Jackie Nickerson. « There’s an elegance to the images, and a bit of havoc thrown in. I think it’s always better if, when we look at a photograph, we see the person first. So the person is wearing the clothes instead of the clothes owning the person. » Discover the Marni FW15 campaign images below.
