« ONCE AND FOREVER », A FILM BY KARL LAGERFELD FOR CHANEL METIERS D’ART

KRISTEN STEWART AND GERALDINE CHAPLIN ARE COCO CHANEL IN « ONCE AND FOREVER »

Yesterday, Karl Lagerfeld unveiled his Chanel Métiers d’Arts 2015/16 collection in Rome. Called « Paris in Rome », the collection was an hommage to French actresses and Italian cinema. For Lagerfeld, there was no better place to show this collection than the legendary Cinecittà Studios, home of great Italian films in the 1960s. As an introduction to the collection, Karl Lagerfeld presented « Once and Forever », a film starring Kristen Stewart and Géraldine Chaplin, which he directed. The two Chanel ambassadresses embody actresses who prepare for the role of Coco Chanel at two stages of her life, in an ongoing film production. While Geraldine Chaplin embodies a well-rounded actress who tends to believe she is Gabrielle Chanel, Kristen Stewart struggles in finding her voice as Coco Chanel and works on her frustration to finally find the perfect interpretation for the character. Jérémie Elkaïm plays the film director who tries to manage the two actresses. Kristen Stewart will be the face of the Chanel Métiers d’Art 2015/16 campaign, and this was the first time for her playing the character of Coco Chanel. The cast of « Once and Forever » also includes François Marthouret, Amanda Harlech, Jamie Bochert, Jake Davies, Baptiste Giabiconi and Laura Brown.
