Paul Smith is glad to announce a David Bowie collaboration available from today Friday 8th January 2016 to celebrate Bowie’s new album ★ (Blackstar) out on the date of his 69th birthday. Collaborators on work and friends in life, David Bowie and Paul Smith decide to team up again with the help of british graphic designer Jonathan Barnbrook on a limited T-shirt edition. Indeed, after the success of their previous collaboration in occasion of The next day Bowie’s twenty-eighth album, Paul explains: « I’ve known David Bowie for many years and have been fortunate to spend time with him in the past. I was delighted when he asked me to collaborate on the release of The Next Day in 2013 and equally delighted to work with him again on creating a T-shirt for the release of ★ ». Inspired by Bowie’s new album’s title and first single Blackstar, the collection plays on the star’s geometric form and components and handwritten text from Paul Smith himself.
