CARVEN MEN FALL 2016: THE COLLECTION

On this first day of Paris Men’s Fashion Week, Barnabé Hardy presented his second collection for Carven in the House’s space in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. In front of a standing and free-moving audience, the collection was presented with three mini-shows in which models evolved on an electric blue path traversing the showroom. On digital screens, animated shapes were moving repeatedly. The collection featured great casual wear, and the silhouettes were elongated by knitted scarves falling to the floor. There was also a sense of mixing of the elements: the collar of a woolen blazer was in fact obtained by knitting and it gave that impression of merging to pieces of cloth together. The outerwear pieces were a collection stand-out, not only because of the orange fabric but also because of the intricate three-dimensional motif that, after taking a closer look, seemed to represent human figures.
