Crash gets skin deep, exploring the question of the body in this age of new technology to the point of obsession. First with the incarcerated body, faced with its own desire, and incarnated by Adèle Exarchopoulos, who launches herself body and soul into « Eperdument » by Pierre Godeau. Next with the master of Arte Povera, Jannis Kounellis. For his exhibition at La Monnaie de Paris, he revisits the legendary actions that have transformed our perception of the body in danger. California artist Dan Finsel considers the body as constraint, raucously calling into question the perception of his own body in space and in the eyes of the other… Then the obsession with the body in the work of Robert Mapplethorpe, which takes on its full meaning and intensity in the hands of Peter Marino at galerie Thaddaeus Ropac. Actor Pierre Deladonchamps who transcended the taboos tied to male nudity in « Stranger by the Lake », becomes one of the most promising actors of his generation. We conclude with legendary artists Peter Fischli & David Weiss, as their magnificent retrospective takes place at the Guggenheim.
