COLLIDE – MONCLER & GREG LAUREN FW17/18 COLLECTION

On March 3rd, COLLIDE – MONCLER & GREG LAUREN presented their fall winter 2017 collection at the Paris gallery VNH.

The collection appears as an experiment on the fabric itself. By superimposing a vast diversity of materials, it functions like a game of shapes in which a single fabric is produced by assembling an array of heterogeneous visions of fashion.

As a painter and sculptor, Greg Lauren takes a sincere poetic approach to this new line of clothes: a perfect combination which tells the story of each fabric. Men and women can choose which story they want to wear: the tale of Moncler’s classic couples of fire red and sweet blue or black and military green. In this way, the fabric becomes the site of innovation and interpretation, while displaying a multifaceted identity that emerges from the perfect meeting between new materials and used materials striving for new life.

This art of mixing elements forges a new language of fashion, presenting clothes that convey their own history and identity within this combinatory and double-sided process.

Greg Lauren’s aim is to develop the idea of new luxury: an unexpected kind of luxury that juxtaposes different fabrics that are less rich yet still high-end. In fact, it is the uniqueness of each blend that reveals this sense of luxury. And this new alliance between new and used clothes ushers in a new language that empowers men and women to create and express their new identity.
