By Crash redaction

Sofia Coppola’s  ‘The Bling Ring’ is going to open Cannes festival 2013. Directed, written and produced by Francis Ford Coppola’s daughter, this movie is going to be considered as a new tournament in her long blockbuster‘s filmography.

The film is a fictional account, the story it’s based on is true and the filmmakers and cast all put in a fair amount of research to ensure authenticity. It takes place in a world where culture obsessed with celebrity.

In this movie, Emma Watson is seen smoking, stripping and doing an American accent, a sharp contrast to her Harry Potter days. She is attended with four other actors as Taissa Farmiga, who played in the first season « American Horror Story », Israel Broussard, thatwe saw in « Flipped », Rob Reiner, and the new talents Katie Chang and Claire Julien.

Sofia Coppola sums it up: “I think it looks at our culture today and the reality TV phenomenon and how that has affected this group of kids and I’ve tried to tell the story in a way that you can get into it from the kids point of view and see how it’s fun and exciting and then hopefully by the end of it you get another perspective that they have taken it too far.
