MARINE SERRE PRESENTS: REGENERATED

By Crash

Since the beginning of her fashion house, French designer Marine Serre has always promoted using deadstock fabric for her collections, giving vintage garments a new life and a new meaning. She definitely opened up a conversation on waste in the fashion industry, proving luxury can be sustainable and have a powerful voice in the eco-conscious debate. This process of regenerating existing pieces of fabric has been fundamental for Marine and with this campaign, showcasing the methods of production of the Autumn/Winter 2020 collection, the designer shows transparency is the new unattainable chic.

The press release explains:

« Each regenerated garment has a label that specifies the material used, its origins and the location of its transformation. The materials are carefully selected, washed and treated at our studio in Paris, before being sent to manufacturing partners who produce the seasonal collections. We have long-standing collaborations with factories located in Italy, Portugal and France who valiantly support this way of producing garments. »

These short films present and document each part of the regenerating process, giving the viewer an access to the factories. It’s the true story of how your clothes are being made, period.
