LANVIN A/W 2021

By Crash

Glamorous and fabulous: the joie de vivre, elegance and frivolity of the past combined with a vision of the future rooted in optimism. For Lanvin Fall/Winter 2021, Bruno Sialelli looks to both the past and the future, drawing inspiration from the past, a past reinvented for the present, calibrated for the future. Created in a unique moment of global pause, this new Lanvin collection is anticipatory, considering the moment, after lockdown when the world will open up again. It remembers yesterday’s celebrations while imagining tomorrow’s festivities.

The Lanvin woman is well known: she is glamorous and fabulous, a link to Lanvin’s DNA, to the century-old roots of the house that plunge into the dynamic energy of the 1920s. These mesh with Bruno Sialelli’s own memories of the beginning of the millennium, including his memories of Lanvin, to create a new synthesis, a balance between the heritage of the house and the obsessions of our time. The atmosphere is positive, optimistic and elegant. Evening wear for every day. The fabrics are shiny, tactile and sensual: satin, taffeta, charming silk, crepe, glamorous faux fur in animal prints. Dresses and coats float on the body, backs are delicately hooded, lending ceremony to every gesture: a couture atmosphere for the oldest of Parisian houses.
