PRADA FALL/WINTER 2023 WOMENSWEAR SHOW

By Crash redaction

The ideal of beauty is conceptualized and rediscovered in Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’ Fall/Winter 2023 collection.

Through a journey of re-evaluating the concept of beauty, it is established how beauty is not determined by aesthetics, but rather by action. In this collection Miuccia and Raf Simons teach us how clothes are, above all, a representation of care and love.

The clothes in this collection have a sentimental formative purpose; Uniforms, representing care and responsibility, are transformed into elegant and rigorous evening gowns. The dress that best represents love, namely the bridal dress, becomes a symbol of ordinariness, paired with sweaters that belong to everyday life. This exchange between exceptional dress and everyday dress gives importance and feeling to both, which change roles and become one emotion.

The two creative directors play with the protection of the body through clothing, suggesting a guardianship towards the person wearing the clothes. This is expressed inside the Deposito of Fondazione Prada, where the movable ceiling, raising and lowering, redesigns the proportions of the surrounding space by determining plays of light and figures.
