On Thursday, January 11th, 2024, Finnish-born designer Achilles Ion Gabriel unveiled his first collection and runway show in Florence, Italy, at the prestigious Pitti Uomo 105.

The collection, which includes gender-neutral ready-to-wear, footwear, and accessories, was designed in the Cotswolds during the summer of 2023.
It features a blend of wardrobe essentials such as tailoring, leather, cargo, jersey, denim, knitwear, and dresses, all infused with a unique style and the brand’s signature AIG blue.

The collection’s details include various distinctive elements, such as wrinkle styles, poppy prints inspired by the Cotswolds fields, a wolf print reflecting Achilles’s Lapland roots, an ink spill print, a detached collar, and a « Go fuck yourself » printed knit. Especially, the collection also showcases cowboy boots with metal tips that read « move bitch ».

The designer, known for his colorful and bold shoes, has now expanded his creative vision to a full range of fashion and accessories, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his career. This debut marks the launch of his eponymous brand, Achilles Ion Gabriel, in the realm of gender-neutral fashion. His journey to this debut has been marked by significant achievements. Having studied footwear design in Finland, he launched his eponymous shoe label in Paris in 2012 and has since consulted for prominent brands such as Marni, Sunnei, and Marimekko. His creative prowess led to his appointment as the creative director of Camperlab in June 2019 and Camper in August 2020. In recognition of his exceptional talent, he was honored as the designer of the year at the 2022 Premios Icon ceremony by Icon El País in Madrid.
