Swedish fashion icon Acne Studios is breaking new ground with its Menswear Fall/Winter 2024 collection, paying homage to denim culture in a rebellious and contemporary manner.

Creative Director Jonny Johansson draws inspiration from the rebellious aura of denim culture, creating a modern cyber biker look. Neon clashes with classic biker and grunge details, creating an energetic fusion inspired by rave and club culture. Johansson notes, « Denim, inherently, has a rebellious aura. It’s provocative, it’s rugged. »

American musician Yves Tumor, known for their boundary-pushing artistry, graces the collection’s imagery. Johansson praises Tumor’s authenticity and unique stage presence, describing it as both « scary and lovely. »

The color palette is a dynamic mix of black with pops of neon in pink, green, purple, and orange. Blues dominate the denim range, while pastels add a touch of sweetness. Proportions play with contrasts – from low-waisted to oversized, creating a layered and experimental look.

Fabrics juxtapose hard and soft elements, reinventing biker staples with worn-in denim, leather, fluffy faux fur, and delicate voile. Trompe l’oeil prints and unexpected combinations of cyber psychedelic designs with biker and punk codes create an overload of prints that catch the eye.

Graphics take a playful turn, subverting traditional motorbike visuals with spray paint angel wings and AI-generated cat prints. Accessories, including fluffy faux fur hats with cat ears and Kawaii-inspired mittens, add a whimsical touch.

Footwear embraces volume with knee-high shearling maxi boots and maxi mules inspired by motorcycle boots. Bags range from micro to maxi-sized, featuring trompe l’oeil totes adorned with keychains and charms. The Platt bag receives an update with studs, heart charms, and pink detailing.
