PANERAI – WATCHES AND WONDERS 2024

By Crash redaction

On the occasion of its partnership with the America’s Cup, Panerai introduced  the new Submersible Tourbillon GMT Luna Rossa Experience Edition at the 2024 Watches and Wonders exhibition in Geneva.

Becoming the official sponsor of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli in 2019 marked the inception of Panerai’s collaboration with the sailing team. The zenith of this partnership unfolded during the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada. For Panerai, this alliance was a natural fit, given its commitment to performance and technological innovation. Over six years of collaboration, Panerai has continuously crafted technical watch collections, drawing inspiration from the technologies and materials employed in the America’s Cup or the insights and requirements of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team.

« Our ongoing collaboration with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team is an adventure blending innovation with the richness of our heritage. This Experience Edition watch also embodies our commitment to delivering an invaluable experience to our customers, » explained Jean-Marc Pontroué, CEO of Panerai.

This collaboration encapsulates all pillars of Panerai’s identity, representing Italian DNA, the profound connection between the Maison and the maritime world, and its dedication to crafting instruments for modern-day heroes. Designed by the Maison’s Laboratorio di Idee at the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel and tested under extreme conditions, these watches exemplify the brand’s commitment to sustainability, reliability, and functionality.

The PAM01405 Experience Edition watch marks the first 45mm Submersible to feature a tourbillon and the first of its kind to marry the complexity of a tourbillon with the futuristic allure of CarbotechTM, a carbon fiber-based composite material. The CarbotechTM case of the watch echoes one of the major materials composing the hull of the Luna Rossa sailboat, which is predominantly crafted from carbon fiber.

This model also boasts a 45mm case, smaller than previous Submersible Tourbillon watches, enhancing wearability while asserting its presence.

This timepiece is a testament to Panerai’s commitment to pushing boundaries in horology while honoring its heritage and partnerships in the world of sailing and innovation.

Limited to just 20 pieces, the Submersible Tourbillon GMT Luna Rossa Experience Edition PAM01405 will be launched in July 2024, ahead of the America’s Cup opening.
