Alessandro Michele marked his debut as Creative Director of Valentino with a Resort collection, unveiled on the last day of Milan Men’s Fashion Week.

Titled “Before the Beginnings,” this collection offers a glimpse into Michele’s vision for the House of Valentino.  Alessandro Michele insists that his admiration for the House founded by Mr. Valentino Garavani is deep “I am truly in love with the place I have decided to live in and which is to become my home,” said the creative director. “I have access to extraordinary pieces worn by extraordinary women who were his friends… His creations speak of him, in the way a dress is a vehicle for extraordinary lives,” said Alessandro Michele. “This world is very, very complex – and much less mundane than we think. There is a level of execution that I see for the first time in a company. I can ask for the impossible,” confided Alessandro Michele. “For someone like me, it’s a constant orgasm. It’s the climax.”

The collection presents a masterful fusion of timeless beauty and bold modern touches. Gallant patterns are complimented by the collections muted colour palette. Final touches mark as bridging pieces from broaches to headbands to earrings to neck ties to gloves. The structure classic of Alessandro Michele with, as always, an impeccable eye for detail. Alessandro maximalises Valentino in his debut as Creative Director.
