KIDSUPER PRESENTS SPRING-SUMMER 2025 RUNWAY SHOW ‘ITS ALL UP IN THE AIR’

By Chloe Edstein

KidSuper presented its Spring-Summer 25 show “It’s all up in the air” at Paris Fashion Week. Colm Dillane is driven by a willingness to take risks and challenge traditional norms. His innovative leadership has pushed KidSuper into the limelight, and his contagious enthusiasm and steadfast dedication to his artistic vision are propelling KidSuper’s ascent in the fashion industry.

Colm Dillane fused performing arts with fashion by partnering with Cirque du Soleil, blending a runway display with performances by Cirque du Soleil artists, expanding on the String Theory concept from the previous season. This concept delves into the interconnectedness and unseen forces that shape our world, using strings and puppetry to explore who holds the reins in our lives, both literally and metaphorically. This potent metaphor prompts the audience to ponder autonomy, encouraging them to question how external forces influence the storyline of their lives.

Much like theatre performances, fashion shows captivate audiences through visual spectacle and storytelling. Through their collaboration, Dillane and Cirque du Soleil enhance the impact of their creative expressions. The recurring theme in Dillane’s work represents the intricate connections that shape our lives. The show highlighted that exceptional art often emerges from the collaboration of diverse talents and perspectives, forming a unified entity. Dillane honoured the combined creativity that fuels innovation in both the fashion industry and performing arts.

The connection between fashion, the circus, and Cirque du Soleil’s distinctive visual identity is emphasized in the collection’s storyline. The KidSuper Spring/Summer 2025 collection stays loyal to the brand’s recognizable style by incorporating lively art, vibrant colours, and diverse prints, while also embracing more elaborate designs and intricate silhouettes. This season introduces leather and patchwork leather to add tactile depth, as well as new, looser tailoring silhouettes, and jacquard fabrics that bring art to life. The exploration of denim continues with innovative approaches, alongside shortened silhouettes that pay homage to early 2000s fashion.

The collection features individual pieces that embody the diverse essence of the KidSuper world, blending fashion, art, and performance to produce a truly memorable encounter.
