Italian brand, Blumarine, announced the appointment of David Koma as the brand’s creative director. Koma is a London-based designer who garnered attention with his “ultra body contouring silhouette” – a design form inspired by the feminine form. He launched his eponymous luxury womenswear brand in 2009 and has been a staple of London Fashion Week since. He has received several awards over the years namely the British Fashion Council/ Vogue Fashion Fund in 2020 after being shortlisted the years prior. The Georgian-born designer, who studied at Central Saint Martins College, has also become a celebrity favourite dressing many from the likes of Adele, Rihanna and Beyonce.

Following Walter Chiapponi who was appointed in November of 2023 and remained for one collection, Koma is set to make his debut collection for Pre-Fall 25. CEO of Exelite, the holding company that owns Blumarine, Marco Marchi states, “David Koma’s aesthetic captured me from the beginning. I am sure that David will be able to interpret Blumarine’s codes to perfection, thanks to his vision and stylistic sensitivity, characterized by an overwhelming femininity.”
