PRADA SPRING/SUMMER 2025

By Max Mendel

Prada’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection made a bold statement at Milan Fashion Week, infusing the runway with a refreshing blend of futurism and surrealism. Hosted at the iconic Fondazione Prada, this season’s collection explored the growing influence of algorithms and aggregators in shaping our tastes, subtly challenging the tension between personal preferences and technology.

Experimentation—always a hallmark of Prada—took center stage, with looks ranging from sporty eveningwear to unexpected combinations like feather dresses paired with windbreakers. Surrealist touches, such as a trompe l’oeil fur collar on a herringbone coat and suspended straps on a floral slip dress, added dimension and intrigue, showcasing the brand’s signature playfulness and innovation.

Key design elements paid homage to Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada‘s design universe. Elegant skirts and sweatshirts reflected Simons’ sleek, modern aesthetic, while grommet skirts brought Miuccia’s signature eclectic touch. The duo seamlessly blended futurism with retro influences, creating a subtle paradox through piece pairings such as retro car coats styled with bionic sunglasses.

Prada revisited past season favorites by updating iconic designs like origami-style heels and elongating their signature doctor bag, all while maintaining focus on promoting individual style over fleeting seasonal trends. Trend textures like suede and standout colors such as “Brat summer” green were seamlessly integrated, reaffirming the brand’s mastery of balancing the past with the future and offering a vision that is both timeless and cutting-edge.
