RICHARD MILLE UNVEILS THE « RM 65-01 MCLAREN W1 »: A TRIUMPH OF INGENUITY AND PERFORMANCE

Richard Mille presents its sixth collaboration with British supercar manufacturer McLaren: the « RM 65-01 McLaren Automatic Split-Seconds Chronograph W1. » Limited to just 500 pieces, this timepiece showcases the brand’s most complex automatic chronograph yet, embodying the cutting-edge technology and design excellence that define both Richard Mille and McLaren.

Inspired by the groundbreaking « McLaren W1 » supercar, which follows the lineage of the « McLaren F1 » and « McLaren P1 », the « RM 65-01 » reflects high-performance features through its aerodynamic shape and advanced materials. At its core is the RMAC4 movement, oscillating at 5Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour), enabling the watch to record elapsed times down to one-tenth of a second. As a true driver’s watch, it combines functionality with a dynamic aesthetic.

Bespoke bodywork makes the « RM 65-01 » a watch like no other. Just as the « McLaren W1 » is the marque’s most extreme road car, this timepiece ranks among the most technically complex of Richard Mille’s ‘Racing Machines on the Wrist.’ The Carbon TPT case wraps around the chronograph movement and was inspired by the car’s design features.

“This project perfectly illustrates Richard Mille’s philosophy of constantly pushing technical boundaries to create innovative watches that include the latest watchmaking developments with a functional, practical and high-performance approach,” said Salvador Arbona, Technical Director of Movements. The » RM 65-01 McLaren W1″ marks another milestone in the partnership between Richard Mille and McLaren, which began in 2016.
