AN ICONIC SOUND FOR A NEW ICON : FENDI’S PEEKABOO SOFT SMALL BAG

By Iris JEANSON

Fendi’s Peekaboo family introduces the Peekaboo Soft Small bag with a special video “An iconic sound for a new icon” directed by Emir Eralp featuring the groovy song Little Man by Swedish electronic music band Little Dragon. This new project anticipates the celebrations for Fendi’s 100th anniversary and shows once again Fendi’s identity of constant research and boundaries-pushing creativity.

Under the lens of Emir Eralp, the video captures intimate and meaningful moments that weave together the essence of the Peekaboo Soft Small bag, the city of Rome and the lives of three young women. The soft bags accompany them through the streets, carried on the shoulder, crossbody, or by hand, blending seamlessly with their personalities. The video’s atmosphere is elevated by the ethereal voice of Little Dragon’s Yukimi Nagano, whose synth-pop sound imbues the storytelling with a contemporary charm that feels elegant, authentic, and effortlessly joyful.

Silvia Venturini Fendi, Fendi’s Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear, explains « The Peekaboo Soft Small bag has perfect proportions. It’s like a Baguette bag, you can fit a lot in it, everything you need. They stretch, move, expand and contract depending on what you put inside. That’s the secret: soft small bags are never really small, they’re fake small.

Making its debut on the Women’s Spring/Summer 2025 runway, Peekaboo Soft Small bag embodies softness and versatility. Designed to reflect the Maison’s creativity and dedication to craftsmanship, the bag retains the iconic features of the Medium and Large sizes: the soft construction, lightweight design, and sumptuous high-quality calf leather.

« I like the idea that this bag shows off its interior even more. The leather is soft and it’s like it’s smiling when you open it. This bag smiles. It’s more accessible, more revealing of what’s inside », continues Silvia Venturini Fendi, “it’s like an identity card for the person wearing it”.
