A MEETING OF OBSESSIONS AT GUCCI A/W 2020

By Crash

Alessandro Michele presented the A/W 2020 Gucci show yesterday, at Milan Fashion Week with a bang. As always, the show was a celebration of different eras and subcultures, with a bit of grunge, a bit of hippie, even some Victorian era-esque dresses with pink and blue ruffles. Children’s clothes were another big inspiration: school uniforms, pinafore dresses and librarian sunglasses. Some looks are incredibly preppy but others garner some elements of fetishism, an ambiguity that Alessandro Michele likes to play with. Taking opposite worlds and making them collide. Religion is also very present with high collars, hats and huge crosses dangling from necklaces. A beautiful circus where the most quirky personalities were celebrated.
