A ROYAL AFFAIR AT SIMONE ROCHA S/S 2021

By Crash

True to her grandiose, deliciously over-the-top vision of what fashion should be, Simone Rocha delivered, once again, a collection made for dreamers and lovers of a bygone past. Her vision of Spring/Summer 2021 is bold, heavily embroidered and reminiscent of the eerie romance of eighteenth century paintings. Volumes are round, voluminous, shielding the body in lush layers that seem at times almost regal. Models are adorned with puffy sleeves, beaded corsets, precious gem clutches in jet black, jacquard black babydoll dresses worn over crisp collared white shirts, deep blue satin Belle Epoque dresses. The Simone Rocha signature extra large bows can be seen on shirt dresses, off the shoulder gowns and a fantastic dramatic cape. Large coats are cinched at the waist, creating new silhouettes. The British designer is giving people a chance to escape, embarking on a voyage of timeless beauty and elegance, away from any statement or blatantly obvious message.
