Founded in 2016 by fashion designer Karin Wüthrich and graphic designer Matthias Fürst, After Work Studio is an innovative Swiss label specializing in outdoor and knitwear pieces. Reflecting their strong identity, the collections incorporate bold graphics, an undeniable sense for functionality and a mastery of proportions.

The multi award-winning designers, including of the Design Prize Switzerland 2019, work with Textil AG Huttwil, one of the last remaining Swiss knitting producers meaning that the collections contribute to the preservation of traditional crafts, and the conscious ethic of the duo stands for social sustainability.

The distressed rib-knit linen featured in the SS22 collection is grown and produced in Emmental, making it the only linen to be produced in Switzerland at present.

Reflecting on a year spent mostly indoors, with lack of physical and emotional contact but a sense of constant and unrelenting connectivity via smart phones and technology, ‘Losing Track of Time’ is a collection designed as an antidote to a distorted perception of time, after the collective lives experience of constant imposed lockdowns and curfews.

Work from home, self-isolating, and ‘social bubbles’: homes became offices, restaurants, spa’s, hospitals, dance floors, parks… humanity was jolted into confinement and whilst our physical worlds shrunk, our virtual worlds expanded far and wide. Zoom work conferences from bed, the arrival of 10-minute delivery apps. It was everything, all under one roof.

So why not sleep in a suit? Why not exercise in a silk dress? Without the constant scrutiny of the eye of the passer by dressing becomes a new form of play. A fancy dress box and not just the laundry, the new found sense of freedom in dress is one of the few pleasures to be taken from the pandemic, whether it be the freedom to not bother to get dressed at all or the freedom to wear a wedding dress to breakfast, it’s the liberty of it all.

The SS22 collection from After Work Studio translates this transformation accordingly into eight looks, consciously blurring the lines between times, places and activities. In collaboration with Swiss eyewear brand VIU, the finishing touch for this capsule collection comes in the form of a pair of sunglasses, available in four colorways, 6am, 12am, 6am and 12pm, from Spring 2022 onwards.
