Just a week following the announcement of Pierpaolo Piccioli’s departure, Valentino  revealed  today the appointment of Alessandro Michele as new Creative Director. The designer will assume his role within the Roman Maison starting April 2nd 2024.

This nomination marks the beginning of a new creative journey aimed at illuminating the brand’s unique values, heritage, and Couture codes worldwide, taking advantage of Alessandro Michele’s unique perspective and experience.

« It is an incredible honor for me to be welcomed into Valentino House. I feel immense joy and great responsibility in joining a Couture House that engraves the word ‘beauty’ in a collective history, characterized by distinctive elegance, refinement, and extreme grace, » expressed the Roman designer.

Formerly the creative director of Gucci, Michele bid farewell to the Maison’s studios in November 2022 after redefining the Italian house’s universe with looks that were characterized by a pop – maximalist style, and flamboyant aesthetic.

The appointment of Alessandro Michele marks a new chapter for Valentino House. Michele is an exceptional talent, and his appointment underscores grand ambitions for Valentino Maison.

Alessandro Michele’s debut collection will be unveiled during Paris Fashion Week – Spring/Summer 2025, setting the stage for a new era of creativity and innovation under his leadership.
