ALLSAINTS CELEBRATES WOMEN WITH NOT FOR SALE

By Alice Butterlin

Today is a very special day since it celebrates all women worldwide and their power to break molds and assert themselves as human beings who must share equal rights as men. Today is International Women’s Day and, since 1977, it’s the occasion to reflect on the way women are perceived in society and contribute to give them the voice they deserve.

For this important day, the British fashion brand AllSaints has partnered up with Not For Sale, an international non profit organization based in San Francisco which strives to protect people around the world from human trafficking and modern-day slavery. They have actually been working together since 2011, creating T-shirt lines that profit the organization. This time around, the limited edition T-shirts bear the evocative phrase: “Girls don’t just wanna have fun”. It’s a charity initiative that’s bound to make a statement! By adapting the famous Cyndi Lauper song lyric, the piece brings people back to reality. The brand is known for its continuous involvement in social matters, and has notably released a short documentary promoting British design and manufacturing called Voices of the Cloth in 2011. AllSaints is also a great supporter of live music and has hosted numerous shows and sessions from Los Angeles to London.

The graphic T-shirt comes in black and white and is available in AllSaints stores and online. Find more information here.
