AMBUSH RELEASE SPRING-SUMMER ‘25 COLLECTION

By Chloe Edstein

Designer Yoon Ahn has always been inspired by art students, embodying the Ambush blend of vintage, athletic wear, and modern style. Their style features frayed edges and surprising combinations, such as vintage family heirlooms paired with unconventional sportswear. In the SS25 collection, Yoon envisions an art class filled with outsiders, juxtaposing their growing maturity with the reluctance to let go of teenage naivety.

Ambush subverts classic checks into cropped tailoring for women, reflecting its growth spurt. A black and grey plaid jacket paired with a matching mini kilt and white shirt disrupts uniform norms. A maroon and black bouclé tweed mini skirt suit features vintage buttons, while a waistcoat in overdyed dusty pink wool matches drawstring trousers with a faux-boxer waistband. The grey suit reappears with capri pants and an oversized leather jacket. Romantic elements include a white strappy top with ribbons and a blue blouse adorned similarly.

As the collection evolves, unhinged elements emerge. Red and white gingham tees and trousers pair with a tweed jacket or knitted mohawk balaclava. A ruched white skirt with a boxy jacket, a maroon bomber jacket with a grey plaid dress, and whimsical 3-D pink fabric flowers define the lineup. A cream knit cardigan and shorts feature exaggerated stitching. Varsity stripes in knitwear and a translucent blue silk maid’s dress add charm. The Ambush heart motif on a pink baby tee with a red kilt completes the cuteness.

Ambush menswear blends high and low styles. Canvas shorts pair with a sharp rugby shirt, and grey plaid appears with a kilt, jewelled cowboy belt, and balaclava. Jet black bouclé tweed with a matching kilt and blue shirts with knitted argyle front panels stand out. Denim workwear for both genders includes double knee and riveted waistband jean trousers and shorts. Mohawk varsity knit balaclavas in various colours add punk chaos.

A blue button-up oxford shirt doubles as a crossbody bag, and school uniform-inspired penny loafers and lace-ups are prominent. Jewellery features clustered pearls in various forms, mixed with padlocks from previous seasons, creating a hard/soft contrast. Sunglasses are either pastel-rimmed or rimless with piercings. Belts have either a cursive AMBUSH® logo or pearl adornments.

Ambush’s collection blends nostalgic charm with modern cuteness and collectability.
