MARK DION’S « COSMOGRAPHIA: SELECTED WORKS ON PAPER 1991-2014 » SOLO SHOW IN PARIS

Mark Dion examines the relationship between man and nature through his latest works now being featured in a solo show at The Gallery In Situ. Known for his complex installations, Dion’s latest project has been a work in progress since the 90s, which has led the artist to have been able to produce numerous documentation focused on human-kind’s relationship with nature, from photographs, scientific data, graphic works and collections of notes, and best of all – his illustrations.

It is because of the vast quantity of work created, as well as the depths reached by this talented artist that The Gallery In Situ has chosen to honor the long-term collection of side works which have spanned over the Dion’s entire career. The presentation entitled “Cosmographia: Selected works on paper 1991-2014” will showcase the way in which the artists builds and develops his projects. Featuring his characteristic red and blue colour coding, Dion’s drawings offer insight into his exploration of the natural world and archaeological surveys.

Cosmographia: Selected works on paper 1991-2014, will open at Gallery In Situ, September 11^th at 18h, 19 Rue Michel le Compte 75003 Paris.
