BACKSTAGE AT 3.1 PHILLIP LIM MEN SPRING-SUMMER 2016 PARIS
By Crash redaction
3.1 Phillip Lim opened this second day of SS/16 Paris Men’s Fashion Week. The crowed gathered in the Galerie de la Minéralogie in Paris 5th Arrondissement where two rows of white flags were raised above the runway. A soft music began to play as the show started with an all navy blue look, a hooded over-shirt and easy-looking pants. As the show progressed, the military influence was palpable, particularly in the details, be it the tight collars, the shoulder tabs or the metallic buttons. Still, there was and real sense of refinement and peacefulness to this collection, which completely justified the presence of the white flags. The silhouettes were not stiff; they were moving, and the fabrics showed to be light. Military-inspired jackets were sometimes not entirely buttoned-up, just to give that extra easy feeling.
