ATELIER VERSACE FW16: A BEAUTY STORY
On the first day of Paris Haute Couture Week, Donatella Versace presented her Atelier Versace FW16 collection in the rooms of the historical Palais Brogniart. As always, Versace is all about femininity, and this season’s incredible cast of models shows a brillant representation of what the Versace woman is all about. Supermodels and runway icons like Carolyn Murphy, Mariacarla Boscono, Karen Elson, or Sasha Pivovarova meet a younger generations of top models like Ondria Hardin, Lineisy Monteiro, or Bella Hadid. Specifically, Atelier Versace is at the core of the House’s identity: this season, the collection is truly masterful in its elegance and seems to play on the idea of duality with the use of soft satins. The gowns, coats, and pantsuits often have two tones and show intricate pleat work and draping. The silhouettes give such a powerful impact, like the blood reg gown worn by Bella Hadid. A black split dress with extra low neckline is paired with a pastel pink boxy coat to add more attitude. The few last silhouettes show a dazzling work on strips that create a wave movement, like on a short dress with endless shades of blue worn by Sasha Pivovarova.
