BOSS WOMEN SS17: A BACKSTAGE STORY
This season, Jason Wu delved into the aesthetic of David Hockney’s pool series to inspire a collection that feels vibrant and polished. Tailoring takes a relaxed and sporty direction with adjustable straps and oversize pockets on the garments. What strikes the most is color: from vivid green to electric blue, this might be Wu’s most colorful collection to date for Boss. Still, his approach of color enhances a subtile sense of craftsmanship, and pleating elevates the collection along with hand-embroidered flower motifs on organza tops and dresses. Fabrics used, from lace to raw-edged tweed participate in creating a new look that manages to stay true to Boss’ evident elegance.
