BACKSTAGE AT BOTTER F/W24

By Iris Jeanson

Botter’s Autumn/Winter 2024 collection, ‘Dark Waters,’ is a captivating fusion of Caribbean culture, sustainability, and realistic elegance. Designers Lisi and Rushemy present a mature evolution, focusing on realistic dressing and refined silhouettes.

The collection transforms traditional patterns, turning trousers into trench coats and dresses, creating airy balloon-shaped garments inspired by Caribbean culture. Innovative techniques like the needle punch method blend disparate garments seamlessly, mirroring the undulating waves of the Caribbean Sea.

The deep colors of the ocean, combined with sandy beige and vibrant flashes, capture the essence of deep waters. Accessories like weathered bike saddle bags and the iconic Stacked Derby Soccer Cleat shoe complete the look.

In collaboration with Reebok, Botter infuses street fashion, athletic performance, and cultural influences. Inspired by Caribbean street football, the Botter x Reebok collection incorporates water elements, echoing Botter’s signature blue.

The show’s music by Bnnyhunna, an emerging artist from Amsterdam, adds a distinctive touch. Fusing hip-hop, R&B, and afrobeats, Bnnyhunna’s sound aligns with the authenticity of Botter’s ‘Dark Waters’ collection, creating a seamless narrative of cultural richness and environmental consciousness.
