CARVEN SS17: A BACKSTAGE STORY
Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud present a collection infused with a spirit of duality. A hard and soft aesthetic meet on embroidered organza tops paired with military-inspired, low-cut trousers with buckles and appearing trims. High-waisted skirts and A-line dresses features big buckles aligned on their front. Great knitwear feature metallic-looking embroideries creating circle motifs. Printed silk mini skirts reference the textures of foulards, and a PVC transparent purple jacket makes us jump into the future. Colors are bright: from vivid red to orange to green. Overall, the collection exudes a bad girl spirit with the face of the ideal Parisian – she does wear leather chokers! Prints are also noteworthy: whether in black & white or red & blue, flowers are drawn as metallic entities and evolve in delicate shapes. Next summer, the girl and the machine walk hand in hand.
