DIESEL BLACK GOLD MEN’S SS17: A BACKSTAGE STORY
This morning on Day 4 of Milan Men Fashion Week, Diesel Black Gold creative director Andreas Melbostad presented his Spring-Summer 2017 menswear collection. This season, the designer envisions his man as a tough yet stylish man who’s not afraid to make statements with his clothing choices. The most striking pieces where the multi-pockets striped jackets, sometimes with extra-long sleeves, that popped with their three-dimensional quality. There was an unmissable, yet subtle, Japanese inspiration in this collection, with the triangular cut of the short sleeves, the soft quilted fabric used for jackets that reminded of Judoka outfits, and the reiteration of the diagonal line in a selection of jackets. Finally, the all-white silhouettes projected the viewer into the future, while the final pieces made a statement with their dominance of salmon pink.
