BACKSTAGE AT DIOR RTW FW24

By Iris Jeanson

Dior’s Autumn-Winter 2024-2025 Ready-to-Wear Collection pays homage to the late 1960s, a pivotal era when fashion transcended ateliers. Inspired by the birth of Miss Dior in 1967, Maria Grazia Chiuri reflects on the challenge of creating ready-to-wear pieces for a rapidly changing world.

The collection celebrates the shapes and materials that revolutionized dressing in the late ’60s, emphasizing the scarf as a versatile accessory. Free-flowing silhouettes and a color palette echoing Marc Bohan’s legacy dominate the runway.

Key pieces, crafted from double cashmere and gabardine, feature the iconic Miss Dior logo in a palette of blues, reds, and browns. Studs are replaced by beads, and bold embroidery makes a striking impact. Indian artist Shakuntala Kulkarni’s backdrop explores the female body and its relationship to different spaces.

The looks convey the radiant strength of a pluralistic, autonomous, and versatile femininity, reactivating the key moment of creative freedom embodied by Miss Dior. In this collection, Dior seamlessly blends history with modernity, celebrating independence and creativity in contemporary fashion.
