FENDI FALL WINTER 2016 MILAN: A BACKSTAGE STORY
Ruffles are in! This season, Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi presented a collection where wavy lines are the common thread. Ruffles on footwear immediately stand out, and then catch the eye on the first silhouettes before being translated into bicolor stripes on fluid tops and dresses. The collection is definitely colorful for Fall, and the individualistic, arty make-up adds a youthful, dynamic dimension. It responds well with the graphic look of the collection, which introduces fur coats to pastel colors. A pastel blue knitted pullover looks as comfy as elegant, and a black minidress with flower motifs embroidered with fur stands out by its uniqueness. The ruffled thigh-high boots are most certainly the accessory of the season, and paired with a black frilled minidress, they make any girl stand out from the crowd. The show was also the occasion for Fendi to introduce human-size Fendirumi, the House’s two new irresistible mascots inspired by Japanese pop culture, celebrating the opening of Fendi’s oversize pop-up store in Ginza. Both mascots attended the show and, as we can see, even made so friends backstage…
