BACKSTAGE AT JACQUEMUS SPRING-SUMMER 2015 PARIS

On Tuesday September 23rd, the Jacquemus show came as a ray of sunshine rewarming us from this first day of Paris Fashion Week madness – that strangely matched the arrival of autumn in the French capital. Lightly called « Les parasols de Marseille », the Jacquemus Spring-Summer collection was clearly inspired by the beaches and the joie de vivre of the city where the sun supposedly always shines. Divided in two parts, the show saw models walking in white sneakers, high white socks and with wet hair as though they had just come out of the water. The first part of the show was a play on white shirts that gave the girls a boyish yet juvenile look that perfectly fitted the mood. Still, short hemlines and slightly opened shirts gave the models a girly and playful attitude. The second part of the show was an explosion of color and stripes on asymmetrical dresses and skirts. The crowd even started to dance on the so rousing sound of 80’s French music as the designer grabbed the girls by the hand to dance it out for the finale.
