JOSEPH FALL WINTER 2016: A BACKSTAGE STORY
Non-conformism is key to this Joseph Fall Winter 2016 collection. Creative Director Louise Trotters builds on the House’s heritage in luxury knitwear. With a functional sense of style, her collection balance between minimalist cuts and bold imagination. There is without a doubt a taste for eccentricity in this collection, which is underlined by the « customized » details in form of birds, eyes, or hands knitted as badges on oversize sweaters. Individuality is the main motif here, and the range of looks presented is certainly unique. The look is deliberately not so put-together, and it gives the extra-long-sleeved sweaters, found in different shades of blue, mustard or grey, the power of a statement: Jackets are mis-buttoned, seams are left for the eye to see, corsets are fastened oddly. What seems odd feels right.
