KENZO MEN FALL 2016: A BACKSTAGE STORY
First show of this second-to-last day of Paris Men’s Fashion Week: Kenzo. Always very much anticipated for their ability to transform their shows into well-thought performances and their multi-inspirational take on ready-to-wear, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim didn’t fail to impress this time either. The collection was inspired by Japan and its many faces, one of them being the designer duo’s connection to music. The presentation featured a live performance by an impressive choir led by a conductor. Walking around them, the models were sporting pieces with an incredible coolness to them: acid colors (turquoise blue, vivid pink) gave them an additional appeal while the shapes were very much Japan-injected (kimono jackets, big belts). Kenzo Takada’s signature served as print on some pieces: a hint to the designer’s great legacy Leon and Lim so proudly represent.
