Breakthrough designer Marta Jakubowski presented her Spring-Summer 2017 collection on the first day of London Fashion Week yesterday. The womenswear designer unveiled androgynous silhouettes on both men and women standing on a red fabric-covered carousel. Though the shapes are simple, the clothes show an intricate thought process in the designs, which large cut-outs participate in creating a deconstructed aesthetic. Colors are vibrant, from bright pink to ruby red, and the use of velvet on full silhouettes adds a seducing shine to the overall look. Both ethereal and strong, this collection further anchors Jakubowski into the London fashion scene as one of the young designers redefining the aesthetic of the future.
