BACKSTAGE AT MSGM SPRING-SUMMER 2017 MILAN

MSGM SS17: A BACKSTAGE STORY
MSGM represents the beating heart of Milan’s most avant-garde, innovative fashion. Every season, Massimo Giorgetti injects a great dose of youth to the Milan fashion scene with designs that are characterized by their forward-thinking approach. For spring-summer 2017, the designer created his own interpretation of sportswear (which seems to be every designer’s main focus this season) by giving it a feminine, almost futuristic, graphic spin. The silhouettes are layered, either with asymmetrical ruffles and reinterpreted sportsbras worn over toned-down shirts, or fishnet dresses paired with contrasting short tunics. Redefining proportions, extra-long white shirts are worn under cropped vintage-looking checked sweaters. Motifs and colors excite the eye, especially the new take on stripes which two colors (white and orange, white and yellow) merge into each other. This is a very dynamic, young collection, in which every detail makes a difference: take for example the footwear between ballet shoe and high-end sneaker, or the drawstring details on tops made of technical fabrics.
