PAUL SMITH SS17: A BACKSTAGE STORY

This weekend, Sir Paul Smith presented his Spring-Summer 2017 collection in London. Putting his own twist on a floral inspiration, he presented a varied series of silhouettes: long coats, flare pantsuits, shift dresses, bermudas, and even overalls. The floral theme is expressed in many ways, first as an overall print on a coat and pantsuits, showing daisies dangling from their stem, but also as hand-drawn, saturated flowers on an off-white top. Aside the prints and intricate details, round collars remind of a flower’s petals. Either worn with heels or espadrilles, the looks exude the summer spirit, always with that sense of ease that defines Paul Smith.
