RICK OWENS FALL WINTER 2016: A BACKSTAGE STORY
Yesterday, Rick Owens presented his Fall-Winter 2016 collection in Paris’ Palais de Tokyo. There was a softness to this collection, provided by the white silhouettes coming first in the line-up. Then, breaking this almost peaceful state were the coats that seemed to have been spattered with green paint. It was as if Rick Owens wanted to create an out-of-time cocoon with crysalis-like headpieces and draped leather garments. The main colors were quite lunar: off-white, faded-out green and brown give a terrestrial meaning to the ensemble. Though the first silhouettes leave a bit of skin showing, the ones towards the end wrap the bodies completely in rounded silhouettes.
