WOOYOUNGMI FALL-WINTER 2016: A BACKSTAGE STORY
Paris. Wooyoungmi Fall-Winter 2016. This weekend, Madame Woo and Katie Chung presented their Fall-Winter 2016 collection for their label Wooyoungmi. As seen on the runway, the collection was inspired by nature and the abstraction coming from its essence. The designers also recall a quote from David Hockney: « If you want to replenish your visual thinking, you have to go back to nature. » That’s what the duo did with this collection, taking inspiration from the artist’s « The Arrival of Spring » exhibition. Colors are used in vibrant contrasting shades that merge together to create a powerful mix. This season’s collection was also the occasion to introduce womenswear into the Wooyoungmi portfolio. The Wooyoungmi woman embodies the feminine alter ego of the man: both share the same aesthetic and exist as two entities living in harmony.
