BACKSTAGE AT YOHJI YAMAMOTO MENSWEAR SPRING-SUMMER 2016 PARIS
By Crash redaction
This season, Yohji Yamamoto showed a collection constructed around the rhythm of stripes and lines. As always, the make up was visually impactful: each model had two lines of color painted randomly – or not – on their faces which perfectly responded to the stripe detailing on the close-fitting suit jackets or pants. The first round of looks was mainly black with the pops of color being the stipes, which then progressively blossomed onto the clothes with multicolor paint-brush prints, which gave the collection a very artistic quality. At the end, sketches of Yohji Yamamoto appeared on white shirts and wrinkled jackets and pants, perfectly capturing the Yamamoto essence.
