BACKSTAGE AT Y/PROJECT SPRING-SUMMER 2016 PARIS
By Crash redaction
Futurist and always very sharp, Y/PROJECT performed an incredible show at the Gibus in Paris this week. Glenn Martens presented an atypical and almost surreal collection in the French club, and we couldn’t help but notice the 90’s rave party influence. Surrounded by fluo lights in the shadows of the underground club, the models were getting ready in an electric atmosphere. On the runway, a great bunch of dynamic, architectural silhouettes stomped down the runway with confidence and the perfect amount of irreverence. While the lights were deliberately agressive, the collection showed a gender-fluid quality, a great way for Martens to showcase his asymmetrical, on-point tailoring skills. For his fourth collection at the helm of Y/PROJECT, the Belgian designer showed he is definitely one of a kind in the fashion landscape.
