The Helmut Lang Autumn/Winter 2022 ready-to-wear collection centers around what the fashion house refers to as the « Codex », a list of clothing archetypes that have been part of the brand’s existence since its beginnings. This codex serves as a reference and for this collection these archetype pieces are reimagined with a desire to express the beauty in utility and vice versa. Utility jackets are made of semi-shine leather, wool and most notably shearling, seen in a surprising rust color.  Tailored cargo and flight pants continue the theme that utility can be beautiful while tank and knit dresses play up the opposite notion, that beautiful pieces can also be useful.
