DISCOVER HAIDER ACKERMANN’S FIRST MEN’S COLLECTION FOR BERLUTI
Last Friday saw the opening of a new era for the Berluti House. Indeed, the LVMH label unveiled the first collection by Haider Ackermann, named Creative Director in September 2016. A new designer’s first collection is always a tough act to pull off, since they have to adhere closely to the House’s codes while still incorporating a personal touch. In Haider Ackermann’s case, this personal touch is his strong and precise universe. A tall order indeed, but Ackermann managed to enhance the Berluti universe and its codes to create a high-end, chic, and desirable menswear collection. Classic menswear pieces are revisited in a hip way. For example, the classy Camel coat is now worn with a simple white tee, while the black trench is belted to highlight men’s thighs. The Berluti man takes his luggage in hand and dons masculine jackets, such as long tailored coats, Nappa leather jackets in violet or electric blue, or even the bold pastel pink parka. But these touches of originality do not detract from the quality of the pieces. Men always sport leather jackets, biker boots, and tailored masculine tuxedos Because above all else, Berluti is a House built on expertise, quality fabrics, and the best cuts.
